How to get polish letters in ISO 8859-2 standard

Lynx 2.6, and newer snapshots of Lynx 2.5FM should be able to convert ISO 8859-2 characters to any available charset (more details soon). In particular, if you have ISO 8859-2 fonts installed, they won't be translated. To turn proper conversion on, select the available charset in "Display charset" option in config menu available after pressing o key.

Standard Lynx 2.5 has built-in characters conversion, but only for ISO 8859-1 characters. In order to display ISO 8859-2 characters you have to have ISO 8859-2 fonts installed and choose ISO 8859-2 charset in "Display charset" option in config menu available after pressing o key.

Older Lynx versions (up to 2.4.2) don't have character conversion mechanisms. In order to display ISO 8859-2 characters you have to have proper font installed.

Netscape 3.0 automatically translates ISO 8859-2 characters to CP 1250, so they are correctly displayed.

In order to use ISO 8859-2 characters you have to have proper fonts installed (available for example on Polish Ogonek Page). Then you should set them as the fonts for ISO 8859-2 documents in "General preferences" dialog, on "Fonts" page.

Use same method as for Netscape 2.0 for MS Windows.

Automatical translation should be available at least starting with version 3.0. However, I don't know exact details.

For other browsers you have to install ISO 8859-2 fonts as program or system default fonts. If you know other browsers and some more effective method of turning their support for ISO 8859-2 on, please inform me.
